Stephanie Sullivan

New Work by Stephanie Sullivan

Combining her love for art and nature, artist Stephanie Sullivan, creates whimsical and delightfully odd images. The playful character of her work is meant to inspire exploration, learning, and creativity. By blending elements of drawing, painting, and photography Stephanie aims to challenge what we see by pushing the boundaries of surface, depth, and composition. Her work is meant to celebrate our ability to imagine and appreciate the wonder around us by sharing ideas and inspiring new perspectives. Stephanie works to encourage creativity through the support and exploration of nature by imagining a future that appreciates the complexity and harmony of the natural world. “Embracing the unusual and unique, celebrating variety, and welcoming perspective.” This work is her way of taking part in our larger conversation about our world and to promote a more harmonious relationship with nature.

After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in studio art from the University of Massachusetts her work has been shown in many places throughout the area including the Northampton Center for the Arts. Since then Stephanie has explored her artwork and spent many years supporting other artists and art venues in her community. Most notably her studio assistance to her mentor, artist and professor Richard Yarde and the many years she worked as a museum preparator at the Smith College Museum of Art. Currently, Stephanie lives and works in Easthampton where she creates her work and continues to support the vibrant area arts community.
