Dear ECA Community,
Easthampton City Arts is excited to announce our lineup of upcoming Programs and Events, from April through December 2026! As many of you know, we’re doing things a little differently this year — we’re introducing new programs, boosting our existing programs, and will be engaging more artists and community members than ever before! We’ll also be creating more opportunities for new artists across all media to get involved by sharing out 5 different “calls to artists” this year — and, we are proud that with these new changes, a significantly larger percentage of our annual funding will directly support working artists, too.
We invite you all to mark your calendars for what’s to come — and, we encourage you all to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to receive regular updates and announcements about these programs and more! ECA announcements are also shared through our monthly newsletter, too!
PROGRAMS
Join us for ART WALK on the first Saturdays of every month at various locations in Downtown Easthampton!
April is POETRY MONTH in Easthampton! Featuring an ECA Gallery Exhibit by the Easthampton Public Library, a Poet Laureate Reading, a Poetry Poster Project, Poetry Ice Cream at Mt. Tom’s Ice Cream, and more!
We’re thrilled for our inaugural season of BEATS ON THE BOARDWALK, taking place on the Nashawannuck Pond Promenade from May 14th–September 24th! Join us every other week on Thursday evenings from 5-7pm!
And for this year’s PUBLIC ART programming, we’ll be introducing a brand new public mosaic sculpture on Union Street, plus our Have a Heart for Public Art fundraiser brunch will be taking place at Glendale Ridge — see details below!

SAT JUNE 6 – SIDEWALK STRUT – Featuring Live Music, SHOW Circus Studio, Caravan Puppets, Art In Motion Dance Stage, a Floating Sculpture Exhibition, Makers Market, Kids Activities, and more!
SAT AUGUST 22 – SUMMER SOUNDS EASTHAMPTON – A one-of-a-kind summer concert at Park Hill Orchard! More details to come!
SUN SEPTEMBER 20 – HAVE A HEART FOR PUBLIC ART – A fundraiser brunch at Glendale Ridge, to support ECA’s Public Art Initiative!
SAT OCTOBER 24 – WICKED STROLL* – An evening of tricks, treats, and Halloween-themed adventures! Featuring live music and performances!
SAT NOVEMBER 21 – FRIENDS NIGHT OUT* – Late night shopping event in the Cottage Street Cultural District!
SAT DECEMBER 5 – NIGHT OF ILLUMINATION* – An inspiring evening of luminaries and candlelight in the Cottage Street Cultural District.

Due to the weather today, there will not be any live music on the Nashawannuck Pond boardwalk this afternoon. The music will be rescheduled and we’ll let you know when we’ve got more info!
We encourage you all to come out to the Cottage Street Cultural District for the wonderful shops and restaurants, flower-themed windows + flower-making activities, and of course, Art Walk this evening from 4-7pm, throughout downtown Easthampton!

Her work is characterized by bold color, dynamic movement, and intricate compositions built from small shapes that form larger images. Join us at Elusie Gallery @bigredframe during Art Walk this Saturday, May 2nd, from 4-7PM for the opening reception of "Interconnectedness via the Garden" by Julian Parker Burns @julianparkerburns.
“My pictures are taken from my commutes, regular visits, and favorite locations, and my garden – I see the same places and people in many different lights over a period of time. With these images, I will create a montage of my photographs by intuitively pairing and combining complementary moments to form a working composition. I then print out overlapping sections from a digital image and affix it with acrylic medium to a primed wood panel. Then I respond to the image with pastel, pencil, and paint to infuse an energy that the mechanized elements (the camera, computer, and printer) of the process lack. I then may further alter the composition by reintroducing the photographic elements or continue to add pigmented layers of color, line, and texture. The work is completed when I feel the line between photograph and hand-applied pigment has been blurred, and conventions of space and physics have been challenged.”

"I use fabric, thread, and the structure of quiltmaking to create abstract geometrics and/or representational collage, watching for what lives in the spaces between composition and stitching. Seeing what lives in the spaces between things is exciting for me. I like to think of this process as discovering order. Within composition, handwork, or machine stitching, the ‘unseen’ that emerges happens most naturally in slow motion, most often as I am moving back and forth between two developing quilts and allowing time to do its work too."

“Tricennium is a celebration of 30 years of making art, community, and connection. The 5 artists comprising Tricennium were privileged to be part of two classes that worked side by side in a warren of studios in the Cassel building at American University’s MFA program in the late 1990’s. The spirit of that time continues to carry through our work. The artists are grateful to have the time and space to show together."
