Scanography from Nature

I have a lifelong and deep relationship with the natural world and my art reflects that. An amateur nature photographer for decades, in 2006, I began creating images using a flatbed scanner as my camera. (Photographers take pictures. Scanographers make pictures.)The majority of my subjects are locally foraged/grown.

Artist (no formal training)/env. consultant (lots); Owner/operator of Vulcan’s Forge Blacksmith Shop 1973-88; Masters in Regional/env. planning; Pacscommuck Trust Board of directors 2001 – present; wild mushroom expert; lead environmental walks, conduct presentations; Valley dweller since the late Triassic.

The scanographic images I have been creating since 2006; the completion/launch of my new web site in 10/11; numerous local/regional solo and group exhibits; in 2010-11, The Boston Architectural College used my images for advertising, branding,PR; 15 years forging iron; several successful fundraising efforts for land protection and other env. causes; Echodale Farm; selling my 19th century tools to pay for my 21st century ones.
