FRONT GALLERY:
As far back as she can remember, Vignone has spent lots of time walking outdoors. She loves to be outside—in the woods, hiking with her dogs, in the gardens by her house. About twenty years ago, she took a pastel landscape painting class, and began to combine my love of the natural world with painting. Painting the places she sees has given her another deep way to connect with them.
The paintings are done in pastel and oil paint. They are based in observation and sketching—some are finished plein air, and some in the studio.
Boyd pieces are constructions. Boyd often utilizes found objects, and in the upcoming show at Oxbow Gallery, she will be displaying pieces which have an emphasis on their relationship to light.
