Katherine received her MFA from the New York Academy of Art, in NYC where she maintained a studio practice and taught art to middle and high-school students for many years before moving to the valley two decades ago. She continues her passion for painting and teaching art at numerous venues.

The title reflects the narrative and visual focus of this body of work; themes of adolescence, empty nesting, or just spatial tensions.When developing her images, Katherine looks for transitional points and overlapping forms; jutting elbows, twisting torsos, bodies receding into space or crossing one another.
