Children play with toy guns based on different influences. These ideas can easily go into adulthood. These photographs were taken while working on documentary photography projects years ago. One photo shows kids spontaneous play shooting when they see first responders going to a house call. The other photo shows a boy with his toy rifle while attending a ceremony at the NYC Vietnam Veterans Memorial. I handed 2 toy guns to the man in the portrait. I did not suggest any pose or idea what to do with them. He is a comedian. The pose he took is not unusual when people joke around with these toys.
