Corona is Spanish for crown, a symbol of power and dignity. The suffering from the pandemic and its health and economic fallout, can not be overstated. Many older people or those with health issues, have self isolated. Some of the most poignant stories are about people who experience isolated deaths. No good-byes, no comforting, no gathering to mourn. This piece addresses the will to live, from the tiniest virus to complex humans and the need to honor and remember those we have lost.
