Brittany Arita

The word for this moment is radical.
Radical empathy (1).
Radical self love (2) .
A radical re-imagining of what we want our future to look like (3).

While I thought of how my work has changed over the course of this pandemic, I've found it is becoming a kind of tool for clarity and accountability. This piece, to me, is a reflection, an offering, a promise, a call-to-arms even. The beginnings of the re-envisioning that this moment is requiring of all of us. What seeds are we planting, what are we nurturing, what can grow from this moment?

Credit to these women; Rachel Elizabeth Cargle (1), Sonya Renee Taylor (2) , and Brittany Packnett Cunningham (3) for their work and their words. What I have learned (& continue to learn) from them is really what inspired this piece.
