Agnes Zsigmondi

I am a teacher who conducted many active shooting drills at my elementary school with young children. In my art I am expressing my admiration for the children who after witnessing the 2018 mass shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglass high school they attended, became activists against gun violence. They are young heroes who endure harassment for their work and still go on to serve the cause that will make our society safer.
