DESCRIPTION:Easthampton Clay is a new and growing ceramics community in western Massachusetts with a large\, well-equipped studio space that is shared by a diverse group of ceramic artists and potters. Join us as we open the doors of our gallery space for an opening reception celebrating the work of our featured artist\, Juli Kirk. You’ll get an opportunity to talk with Juli about their work and get a free Easthampton Clay magnet. \nHeres what Juli has to say:\nI have spent the majority of my artistic career as an oil painter. When EHC opened 3 1/2 years ago I was one of its earliest members. I immediately got sucked into the joy of pot making. As I experimented\, I became increasingly bewildered and excited by the endless possibilities of this new medium. My most recent experiments are adventuring into figurative sculpture. I hope this is just the beginning of a long ceramic journey.

You’ll get an opportunity to talk with Kit about their work and get a free Easthampton Clay magnet. Kit Grindeland (they/them) is new to Northampton after 10 years in Boston as an actor/ teacher/ zoo educator/ props designer\, etc. They love painting and ceramics\, having started their first pottery class at Easthampton Clay last fall. Their work is developed through play and curiosity for the natural world\, the magic of queerness\, and the knick-knacks on thrift stores shelves that make you pause and smile.
