Come visit studios and then Gallery hop.  Among this weekends offering\, Easthampton Clay in studio 307 will be hosting a Holiday Ornament making party on the 3rd floor.  Ugone and Company’s new showroom also on the third floor will be open.  Kaleidoscope Pottery in 404 will be making pottery and offering info about plate making sessions.  Explore the building now and map out a plan for open studios in December.

DESCRIPTION:Martha Braun’s work is most easily identified as painting though it contains elements of the\nsculptural and photographic as well. The work sits in the realm of non-representation\nand presents a point of focus for the silence of contemplation\, subtlety of color\, and the\nelegance of form.\nMartha Braun is a visual artist who received her Master of Fine Arts Degree from the\nMassachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston with residencies in Provincetown. She maintains her studio in Eaasthampton where\, beyond her artistic practice\, she is engaged in a study of color theory and color mixing for artists and in\ndoing research into the lives of oft-times forgotten (despite their excellence) artists who are women.

DESCRIPTION:Cottage Street Sings! \nThe Cottage Street Cultural District Committee is planning a new and exciting event called Cottage Street Sings! Communal singing is a vibrant part of many cultural traditions from around the world. In that spirit\, the Cottage Street Cultural District will host a communal singing event that aims to bring together members of the community to celebrate winter seasonal music of a wide variety of cultures\, faiths\, and traditions. \nThe event will take place on the Cottage Street promenade along Nashawannuck Pond at the entryway to the cultural district. It will be held at 5pm on December 8\, 2018 and will last 30 minutes. Participants will sing seasonal songs from a variety of religious and cultural traditions. The event will culminate in the lighting of Cottage Street\, including the tree on the pond along with artist projections on various buildings along the street. This event is open to all and it is the committee’s goal to have all traditions represented during the event. \nCottage Street Sings also coincides with two other exciting events in the district: Art Walk\, which begins at 5pm\, and the annual Easthampton Chaunukah Festival\, which will begin at 5:30pm directly following Cottage Street Sings. \nAll of the music that we gather will be distributed to the public in advance in the form of recordings and notated music and lyrics so that all can participate in joyful singing on Cottage Street. You can find all of that music right here on this event page. \nThis is event is FREE\, family-friendly\, and open to ALL! DESCRIPTION:The Heart of the Valley Chorus is a local chapter of Sweet Adelines International\, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of and enjoyment of four part harmony singing for women of all ages around the world. The purpose of this organization is to educate members in the art of singing a cappella music\, barbershop style.\n\nThe Heart of the Valley Chorus will be performing some Holiday Tunes Barbershop style this Saturday December 8th at Easthampton’s Old Town Hall from 6pm\, part of Artwalk Easthampton.\n\nThe Heart of the Valley Chorus (HOV) was established thirty years ago as The Mount Sugarloaf Chorus in South Deerfield. Our name was changed in 2002\, to reflect our new rehearsal area in Northampton. They sing a variety of music: Jazz\, Broadway\, Vaudeville and Contemporary. They are a performance chorus and often sing at community events and private functions.

Directed by Jeff Olmsted\, VJV performs a rich and diverse repertoire drawing from swing\, bebop\, cool\, Brazilian and pop inspired jazz arrangements. The only community jazz choir in the Pioneer Valley\, VJV brings the joy of jazz vocals to its audiences. \nMaster vocalist Andrea Niki opens and the Jim Argiro Trio accompanies the ensemble with Argiro on piano\, George Kaye on bass and Kade Parkin on drums. \nA singers open mike follows the performance\, so singers and players\, bring your charts! \nThe Bistro at Gateway City Arts is open until 10pm on show nights\, during these events there is counter service and we are unable to take reservations. WinterFest is a fundraising event created to bring public awareness about ongoing efforts needed to keep Nashawannuck Pond healthy for generations to come. Most activities are free to attend. Donations are gladly accepted and sponsorship opportunities are available. \nActivities include ice harvesting on Nashawannuck Pond\, wagon rides\, nature hikes\, snow sculpting and carving\, community bonfire with music. Indoor activities include a craft fair\, kid’s entertainment\, the movie “Frozen” on the big screen\, and the people’s choice chili cook off. DESCRIPTION:Join us for some winter fun just for the grown-ups at WinterFest’s very first Ice Bar event! \nWhen: Saturday\, February 9\, 2019\, 4:00 – 8:00 PM (4 seatings:  4 – 4:45\, 5 – 5:45\, 6 – 6:45 and 7 – 7:45)\nWhere: Brass Cat Outdoor Garden\, 65 Cottage St. Easthampton\, MA 01027\nTickets:  $10. Must be 21. \nTickets are only available for purchase online and are non-refundable.  Tickets will NOT be available at the door.  As with any of our outdoor events\, the ice bar will be held “weather permitting”. \n​Admission includes access to the ice bar and light appetizers.  Enter the Brass Cat’s main entrance and the door to the patio area is straight ahead.  We will have someone at the door checking tickets.
