SUMMARY:Strings Without Boundaries
DESCRIPTION:Strings Without Boundaries will celebrate our 30th season this year from June 25th to the 27th at Williston Northampton School in Easthampton\, Massachusetts. \nWe were one of the earliest summer programs to provide bowed string players with an exploration into fiddle and contemporary styles from around the globe. And\, we’ve expanded our events in 2026. \nThis year\, our faculty—as always— consists of world-class players who are also highly skilled educators. \nAnd we’re going to offer deep dives into traditional and contemporary techniques\, tunes\, improvisation\, and amplification for both youth and adults\, ages 14 on up. Adults can stay in the dorms. Registrants consist of locals as well as players from around the country. Make new music friends in our warm community setting on a beautiful campus. \nEarly-bird registration is open. Please visit our website www.stringswithoutboundaries.com for all the juicy details. Single-day as well as full registration is available.

SUMMARY:Megan Marden & Marjorie Portnow at Oxbow Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Working directly from observation\, Marjorie Portnow paints landscapes that attend to the shifting effects of light\, atmosphere\, and season. Her paintings balance structure with sensitivity through a rich\, painterly approach to color and touch. \nMegan Marden is a Connecticut painter who works both directly from life and in response to historical sources. Her paintings explore the relationship between the physical act of painting and the experience of looking\, allowing images to move fluidly between description and material presence. \nTogether\, the exhibition offers two thoughtful and deeply personal approaches to contemporary painting\, united by a belief that careful looking can transform ordinary experience.

SUMMARY:"The View from my Kayak" by Kate Follett
DESCRIPTION:Vermont artist Kate Follett showcases images of a floating world in The View from my Kayak. These landscape paintings are unified by their viewpoint from the water and the mirrored reflections and endlessly complex patterns of its moving surface. The works explore both the simplification of wide- open views and the painterly patterns of ripples\, waves\, clouds\, and forested mountains. When not painting\, the artist spends as much time as possible outdoors\, and can be found paddling on the water any time it’s not frozen. You can find her work online at www.katefollettfineart.com.
