SUMMARY:Historic Haunted Houses
DESCRIPTION:Black & White Photography by Jesse Merrick and Rosa Sullivan-Merrick\, a father and daughter collaboration.\n\nIn this photo collection we have documented old houses and buildings that have a history of reported paranormal activity. We researched numerous locations and traveled to different sites to photograph “haunted” houses\, mostly in Massachusetts. We talked to people who have worked at some of these haunted houses and told us stories about their first-hand ghostly experiences. SUMMARY:Call For Entry\,  Plein Air Easthampton - Deadline 11/9/18
DESCRIPTION:Wedge Works Art and Home\, one of Easthampton’s newest art venues\, invites local artists to participate in “Plein Air Easthampton”; an event and exhibit that will fill the gallery walls from October 13th to November 7. All works will be undertaken on assigned and registered 16 x 20 canvases that will be available for artists to take with them to that special site and scene within the city of Easthampton to capture those unique “observable truths” that can only arrive by painting in the open air. There will be a Plein Air Gala reception during the October art walk (Saturday\, October 13\, 5 – 8 pm) to celebrate with a salon-style event that will culminate in the awarding of various prizes as judged by a distinquished local art devotee (to be named later).\nCanvases will be assigned at the gallery beginning September 1 until all thirty have been registered. Finished works must be delivered to the gallery for hanging between October 3 – 11. The gallery will receive a 20% commission on any sold works. There will be a 20 dollar registration fee for participation (15 for ECA members).\nRegister in person. Wedge Works Art and Home is located at 26 Cottage Street in Easthampton. DESCRIPTION:Anthropomorphic Taxidermy by Erica Pinto\nStarting her career as an an avid photographer and potter from western Ma\, Erica found her interests twist in a new direction. In the mid 90’s she began her studies at the Birds in Woods Taxidermy Academy\, and acquired a deep study of the human body while attending the Connecticut Massage Therapy School. Her anthropomorphic taxidermy\, with a macabre and wry sense of humor\, is a nod to the Victorian craze.  She breathes new life into creatures with traditional taxidermy methods while adding seductive sculptural elements. Her work is a window into the humour noir of absurd beauty\, provoking discomfort as well as amusement.

DESCRIPTION:Cottage Street Sings! \nThe Cottage Street Cultural District Committee is planning a new and exciting event called Cottage Street Sings! Communal singing is a vibrant part of many cultural traditions from around the world. In that spirit\, the Cottage Street Cultural District will host a communal singing event that aims to bring together members of the community to celebrate winter seasonal music of a wide variety of cultures\, faiths\, and traditions. \nThe event will take place on the Cottage Street promenade along Nashawannuck Pond at the entryway to the cultural district. It will be held at 5pm on December 8\, 2018 and will last 30 minutes. Participants will sing seasonal songs from a variety of religious and cultural traditions. The event will culminate in the lighting of Cottage Street\, including the tree on the pond along with artist projections on various buildings along the street. This event is open to all and it is the committee’s goal to have all traditions represented during the event. \nCottage Street Sings also coincides with two other exciting events in the district: Art Walk\, which begins at 5pm\, and the annual Easthampton Chaunukah Festival\, which will begin at 5:30pm directly following Cottage Street Sings. \nAll of the music that we gather will be distributed to the public in advance in the form of recordings and notated music and lyrics so that all can participate in joyful singing on Cottage Street. You can find all of that music right here on this event page. \nThis is event is FREE\, family-friendly\, and open to ALL! We hope to see you there!! \nThe Cottage Street Cultural District is an initiative of Easthampton City Arts and the City of Easthampton.

DESCRIPTION:The 6th Annual Easthampton Winterfest\nWHEN: February 9\, 2019 @ 10:00 am – 5:00 pm \nThe 6th Annual Easthampton WinterFest will be held in locations throughout the city on Saturday\, February 9\, 2019.  The day long festival is coordinated by the Nashawannuck Pond Steering Committee. WinterFest is a fundraising event created to bring public awareness about ongoing efforts needed to keep Nashawannuck Pond healthy for generations to come. Most activities are free to attend. Donations are gladly accepted and sponsorship opportunities are available. \nActivities include ice harvesting on Nashawannuck Pond\, wagon rides\, nature hikes\, snow sculpting and carving\, community bonfire with music. Indoor activities include a craft fair\, kid’s entertainment\, the movie “Frozen” on the big screen\, and the people’s choice chili cook off. Bring the kids\, grandparents\, friends and out of area visitors and make it a day in Easthampton. DESCRIPTION:Join us for some winter fun just for the grown-ups at WinterFest’s very first Ice Bar event! \nWhen: Saturday\, February 9\, 2019\, 4:00 – 8:00 PM (4 seatings:  4 – 4:45\, 5 – 5:45\, 6 – 6:45 and 7 – 7:45)\nWhere: Brass Cat Outdoor Garden\, 65 Cottage St. Easthampton\, MA 01027\nTickets:  $10. Must be 21. \nTickets are only available for purchase online and are non-refundable.  Tickets will NOT be available at the door.  As with any of our outdoor events\, the ice bar will be held “weather permitting”. \n​Admission includes access to the ice bar and light appetizers.  Enter the Brass Cat’s main entrance and the door to the patio area is straight ahead.  We will have someone at the door checking tickets.
