representational painter/still life/landscape/portrait
There are moments in life that say "Look at this! Celebrate this"! I am engaged in the art of describing, in paint, the irresistible joy of looking and moving through forms in light and space. I use classical painting methods similar to those of the Renaissance and the 17th Century Dutch painters. I believe these basic techniques continue to provide exciting possibilities for expression.
I hold a BFA in Painting from Indiana University and an MFA in Printmaking from the University of Massachusetts. I exhibit locally, and in Boston and have exhibited internationally. I teach painting and drawing out of my Easthampton studio.
