Eva Marie Cappelli
Eva Cappelli is an original singer songwriter from Western MA. Her band includes Joe Carvalho on Lead Guitar, Shawn Mansfield on Bass and Jeff Turcotte on Drums. She and the band have played a wide variety of venues from small coffee houses to The Hard Rock Café, The Big E, The Iron Horse Music Hall and Majestic Theater on the local scene. Eva and her band just played the Montauk Music Festival in Long Island NY and will be playing the 3rd annual Riverside Blues and BBQ Festival in Greenfield, MA in October 2013. Eva also enjoys helping other songwriters with vocal and songwriting lessons. You can find her running Sam's Cafe's Open Mic every Friday night in Northampton and a poet songwriters Open Mic at Westfield University's Downtown Art Gallery every other Thursday night. Friday afternoons from 12:-1:pm you can listen to live interviews and music with local area artists. Eva's is originally from New York, she walked her way through the country and ended up in the Pioneer Valley and has called it her home for over 35 years now. Eva met Joe Carvalho one night at an Open Mic run by a close friend of theirs and they have been creating music together ever since. The first CD "Are You Out There" was released in 2008. Then they released "Valentine" in 2009 and it won best of 2009 Mass Live Awards, her band won best Blues Band that same year. They released "Bits and Bobs" in 2011 and they have several other CD's on the way one soon to be released from their new Watershops Recording Studio.
Eva has remained in the number 1 position on the Reverbnation Blues charts the last 3 years. She won a live wire award and best Blues Band in 2009 with her CD release (Valentine). Since then she has gone on to become internationally known with her other releases and is getting world wide air play. She’s been asked to tour Europe and Asia. Eva and the band have been on the move with her release of (Bits and Bobs) in 2010 then her current one (Don’t Send Me Flowers). She and the band are recording constantly and there is a new project on the way for the fall of 2013. Eva’s music has been likened to Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeshi, Patsy Cline, Etta James. Her vocals have been called liquid smoke and she is renowned for her sensual, sultry heartbreak lyrics as well as for her hard rocking take no prisoners songs.
