For me, the artmaking process is as much an endeavor of the body as it is one of the mind. Issue and imagery fade behind the event of the art coming-into-being. Manual manipulation at the threshold of achievability is the desirable working condition. No assistants, no excuses, no complaining...just real work accomplishing real tasks. All this eventually leading to a visual entity from which there might be gleaned some elevated perception or momentary amusement.
